Children across the developing world are abused, trafficked, and forced in to situations of harsh labor, many receive little to no education, however often their stories remain silenced. IRIN has recently launched a new series of short films which illustrate the difficult challenges that many children across the globe face on a daily basis.
IRIN has released the first two chapters of their “Kids in the City” series, which takes a deep look into South Africa’s rape crisis – where some 40 percent of rape victims are under 18 years of age. The documentary series also looks at situation of child labor in Sierra Leone where hundreds of children are forced to toil in dangerous and harsh labor conditions breaking rocks for construction purposes to earn money to pay for their school fees.
The documentary’s, along with many other humanitarian films can be streamed or downloaded in high resolution from their website and are free to use for broadcast.
