2024 All Souls Great Decisions Discussion Group

Great Decisions, the Foreign Policy Association's (FPA) renowned nationwide group discussion program on world affairs, will kick off for the 41st year at All Souls on Jan. 24th, 2024 at 7 pm via Zoom and LIVE (Hybrid) with co-leaders Mack Vanderlip and Earl Goodman as moderators.  If you wish to participate, please contact Mack or Earl to receive your Zoom meeting invitation.
 
This year's Great Decisions program includes the following very timely topics each Wednesday at 7 pm via Zoom at All Souls:

  • 1/31    Climate Technology & Competition

  • 2/7      Science Across Borders

  • 2/14     US - China Trade Policy

  • 2/21     NATO's Future

  • 2/28     Understanding Indonesia

  • 3/6       High Seas Treaty

  • 3/13     Pandemic Preparation

  • 3/18     Spring Break   

    TBD      Review & Wrap-up, Wine & Cheese

All Wednesday night participants must register each night for the program.  A link will be sent to you each Wednesday, but the link will be the same.
 
We encourage you to purchase the Great Decisions 2024 Briefing Book for the write-up on each of the discussion topics.  If you are here in Tulsa, the books are available for $25 from group Co-Leaders Mack Vanderlip and Earl Goodman, a 20%. discount from the FPA price.  If you are not in Tulsa, you can purchase a book via the FPA website, Foreign Policy Association (fpa.org), or https://fpa.org/great_decisions/?act=gd_materialsfor $35.  You can also purchase a digital/Kindle version of the Briefing book from Amazon for $24.99.
 
Participants should read each topic before each meeting.  At the beginning of the meeting, we will show a 20-30 minute video on the topic (a Master Class lecture featuring an expert).  Then we will begin our discussion, for about an hour.  The Master Class videos are also available on DVD from the FPA website or on VIMEO at Watch Great Decisions Master Class Online | Vimeo On Demand on Vimeo or https://vimeo.com/ondemand/gdmc for $40 for all 9 lectures, or $5 each for each individual lecture.
