Event Description

Please join the Foreign Policy Association for our Corporate Event on Power Failure on Thursday, November 7th from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at The Harvard Club of New York. We will be joined by Mr. William D. Cohan, New York Times Bestselling Author of "Power Failure: The Rise and Fall of an American Icon."

    • William D. Cohan - Speaker
      New York Times Bestselling Author

      Mr. William D. Cohan is a New York Times Bestselling Author of “Power Failure: The Rise and Fall of an American Icon.” He graduated from Phillips Academy (Andover), Duke University, Columbia University School of Journalism, and the Columbia University Graduate School of Business. After growing up in Worcester, Massachusetts, Cohan currently resides in New York City with his wife and two sons.

       

       

      Besides his work as an author, Cohan spent 17 years as a senior Wall Street M&A investment banker at Lazard Frères & Co., Merrill Lynch, and JPMorgan Chase. He is also a founding partner of Puck, a digital journalism publication that is owned and operated by journalists themselves.

       

       

      Cohan’s 2022 release, “Power Failure: The Rise and Fall of an American Icon,” details the rise and fall of the General Electric Company as an iconic American corporation that falls for the same inevitable mistakes that take down many other companies. Cohan’s other works include “Money and Power: How Goldman Sachs Came to Rule the World,” “House of Cards: A Tale of Hubris and Wretched Excess on Wall Street,” and “The Last Tycoons: The Secret History of Lazard Frères & Co.,” which won the 2007 FT/Goldman Sachs Business Book of the Year Award.
