Event Description

Please join the Foreign Policy Association and the Fulbright Association for the inaugural lecture in the Great Decisions Fulbright Forum. Dr. Anne Krueger, Senior Research Professor of International Economics at Johns Hopkins University, and former Chief Economist at the World Bank, will speak on the future of globalization. Dr. Krueger explores this topic in her latest book, International Trade: What Everyone Needs to Know (2020). Dr. Krueger also covered this topic in an essay titled “The End of Globalization?” in the Foreign Policy Association publication America in the World (2020).

The Forum will feature extraordinary speakers, thought leadership, and non-partisan debate on a wide variety of critical global issues. Lectures in this Forum will explore the same topics covered in the Foreign Policy Association’s flagship publication, Great Decisions.

The Fulbright Association, the alumni organization of the US Fulbright Program, is celebrating the 75th Anniversary of Fulbright in 2021 by launching the Fulbright Forum. More at www.fulbright.org.

    • Dr. Anne Krueger - Speaker
      Senior Research Professor of International Economics at the School for Advanced International Studies, Johns Hopkins University

      Anne Krueger is the Senior Research Professor of International Economics at the School for Advanced International Studies, Johns Hopkins University. She is also a Senior Fellow of Center for International Development (of which she was the founding Director) and the Herald L. and Caroline Ritch Emeritus Professor of Sciences and Humanities in the Economics Department at Stanford University.

      Anne Krueger was First Deputy Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund from 2001 to 2006. Prior to that, she had taught at Stanford and Duke Universities. From 1982 to 1986, she was Vice President, Economics and Research at the World Bank. She had earlier been Professor of Economics at the University of Minnesota.

      Professor Krueger has held visiting Professorships at a number of universities, including the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Northwestern University, Bogazici University (Istanbul), the Indian Council for Research on International Economic Relations (ICRIER), Monash University, the Australian National University, and the Stockholm Institute for International Economics. She holds a BA from Oberlin College and a PhD from the University of Wisconsin.
