Board members of the Foreign Policy Association were recently in Brussels, where they were invited by the European Union to tour the European Parliament and the European Commission, before heading to Poland, where they met with President Aleksander Kwasniewski and other high-ranking members of the Polish government.

The trip was led by George Cunningham, head of press and public affairs for the European Commission Delegation in New York. Cunningham addressed the Foreign Policy Association board last March, and briefed those attending on the transatlantic issues that will be at the center of the trip.

“People have been extremely friendly, and we are looking forward to some very full days,” said Foreign Policy Association President and CEO Noel Lateef, speaking from Brussels. Participants were preparing for the first part of the agenda, which begins with a welcome from EU Secretary General Javier Solana.
