Lecture by Justine Hardy, an Indian-based journalist and author of In the Wonder House and Scoop Wallah, on her new book "In the Valley of Mist: Kashmir's Descent into Violence."

Justine Hardy, author of In the Wonder House and Scoop Wallah is an India-based journalist who has explored the breadth and depth of Indian Culture over twenty years. Her latest non-fiction, In the Valley of Mist recounts the on-going Kashmir insurgency through the eyes of the Dar family, with whom Hardy has stayed for many years, while reporting on this conflict. In the Valley of Mist is an extraordinary story of family survival, at the heart of a conflict within and beyond the Muslim world. Intrinsic to her involvement as a journalist is also Hardy's commitment to several Non-Government Organizations and foundations in India, such as DRAG-The Development and Research Action Group (India slum education in Delhi), the Kashmir Welfare Trust (earthquake reconstruction and rehabilitation in Kashmir) and a mental health project, also in Kashmir. Hardy will talk about her work as a journalist and social rights activist.
