I find myself sitting here on the last day of 2010, another year…another decade…has again quickly passed and I am trying to get everything done as the day, and year, quickly close in on me. It really has all come and gone in a flash and as the year, and decade, come to an end I now find myself looking back on the year and what is has meant for children across the globe and so much has happened in the last twelve months, as we have seen countries continually ravaged by war and genocide, children and families who have lost everything in the midst of the harshest natural disasters, others who continue to fight daily against poverty and preventable disease, and so much more of which I will highlight shortly in my end of year review.
However the closing in of my final night of 2010 not only has me reflecting on the continued struggle and the many triumphs for children’s rights across the globe, but also has me left with renewed hope as I look forward the to a new decade for children around the world.
I wanted to take this moment to thank you for your readership over the past year. May this year bring you all you hope and desire, as well as an opportunity to find your voice for children in your community or across the globe. I look forward to continuing to bring you more news and insights, as well as stories of hope and inspiration from across the globe, over the next year.
Wishing you all a safe and happy New Years!
