Last week, President Berdymukhamedov signed an amnesty for eleven political prisoners sentenced under the Niyazov regime. Of chief importance in the list was the former Chief Mufti of Turkmenistan, Nasrullah Ibn Ibdullah. Another prisoner released was 70 years old.
