Event Description
The Prospect for Mideast Peace: A Discussion with Rashid Khalidi
Please join YPFP NY and NYU's Political Union & Review for a discussion with Rashid Khalidi, noted Middle East scholar, about the United States' role as a mediator in the Israeli-Palestinian relationship.
In Mr. Khalidi's most recent book, Brokers of Deceit: How the US has Undermined Peace in the Middle East, he argues that the American-brokered peace negotiations have not only failed but have stalled progress towards peace. He also notes that the U.S. role remains central as there is no other counterweight capable of wielding the same amount of influence.
Time will be made available to purchase copies of the book and have them signed.
Monday, December 2, 2013, from 6:30-7:45 p.m., with a short reception afterwards. Doors open at 6:15 p.m.
Register to attend here. Successful registrants will receive a confirmation email. Please bring photo ID.
