    • Richard N. Gardner - Speaker

      Richard N. Gardner is professor of law and international organization at Columbia Law School and senior counsel to the global law firm of Morgan Lewis. He served as U.S Ambassador to Italy from 1977 to 1981 and as U.S. Ambassador to Spain from 1993-1997. From 1961 to 1965 he was deputy assistant secretary of state for international organization affairs.

       

      Ambassador Gardner holds a BA in economics from Harvard, a JD from Yale Law School, and a PhD in economics from Oxford, where he studied as a Rhodes scholar. His previous books include Sterling-Dollar Diplomacy and In Pursuit of World Order.
